Executive Director

MARIA FE PICAR- (Executive Director) is the co-founder of The OMI Cultural Participation Project along with Pamela Shields who was a Project Coordinator for The San Francisco Foundation.  She is also a local dancer and choreographer who has formed several small businesses including her own dance studio “Ingleside Creative Arts” and After School Performing Arts Program “The Arts Connection”; all local arts program that serve the neighborhood and the greater Bay Area. Her recent role is producer for the film production company, “Asian Mainstream Productions” which she co-founded with fellow producer, Kim Bowman.   She has been part of the organization since 1999, keeping contact with neighborhood groups, local community based organizations and non-profits.

Board of Directors *

AL HARRIS- (President) is a well known community activist with Board membership on community based organizations as the OMI- Neighbors in Action, Western Neighborhood Projects, The Oceanview Advisory Board, and The Ocean Avenue Revitalization Collaborative. He is currently on staff at the OMI Excelscior Beacon Center as a consultant and assistant to the director.  He has been on the board since its’ inception in 2004.

KATE FAVETTI is a San Francisco native, long time resident of the neighborhood and active in the community. She is committed to the arts and cultural diversity as a means to build community, improve neighborhood quality of life and encourage collaboration of different interests to achieve a common goal. Kate retired from the City after 36 years of service.

DAVID LANTOW - (Secretary) David is a small business owner of a company called NHance Wood Renewal. He has been a volunteer for the OMI-CPP since 2001, joining the board in 2006. He is also a Christian pastor. David is married to Marcia and they have three children: David, Jillian, and Conor.

*As of January 2007. Each board term is for a period of three years.  Some board members have already served almost two years and some of just began service this year.
